Acosta Danza is in Poland to perform at the 24th Lodz Ballet Festival, on the 20th and 21st of May.
The Cuban company will perform at the Wielki Theater in the Polish city with a program consisting of Marianela Boán's The Cross on Niagara; Fauno, by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui; From top to bottom, by Alexis Fernández (Maca); And Carmen, choreographic version of Carlos Acosta on the well-known story of Prosper Mérimée and the music of Georges Bizet, with arrangements by the Russian Rodion Shchedrin. A special moment of the presentations will be the performance of Carlos Acosta in solo Two, by Russell Maliphant.
Together with the Cuban company, the 24th Lodz Ballet Festival presents major international companies such as the English National Ballet and the Akram Kahn Company of the United Kingdom and the RUBBERBANdance group of Canada.
The city of Lodz is located 120 km from Warsaw. It is renowned for its gastronomy, and is considered the Polish capital of cinema and fashion.
