Dancers from the Acosta Danza company will be part of the cast that will perform at the "Carlos at 50" gala, a celebration of the half century of life of the first Cuban dancer Carlos Acosta, which will be presented at the Royal Opera House in London, from 26 to 30 of July.

The public will be able to enjoy the following program:

"Apollo", by Georges Balanchine, with Carlos Acosta in the titular role, together with Marianela Núñez, prima ballerina of the Royal Ballet of London, Celine Gittens, principal figure of the Birmingham Royal Ballet and Lucy Waine, young dancer of the Birmingham Royal Ballet.

Scenes from the ballet Carmen, in the version by Carlos Acosta, performed by dancers from Acosta Danza, led by Laura Rodríguez and Alejandro Silva.

The pas de deux of the white swan from Swan Lake will be represented by Carlos Acosta and Marianela Núñez.

Laurretta Summerscales and Yonah Acosta, leading figures of the Bavarian State Ballet, will dance the pas de deux Le corsaire, while Yaoqyan Shang, from the Birmingham Royal Ballet and Jesús Corrales, from Acosta Danza, will perform the duet End of Time, by British choreographer Ben Stevenson.

The solo Liebestod by Valéry Panov will be interpreted by Brandon Laurence, principal dancer of the Birmingham Royal Ballet.

The bedroom scene from the ballet Manon, by Sir Kenneth MacMillan, will be performed by Carlos Acosta and Marianela Núñez.

Two Dyng Swans, a recreation based on the original choreography by Mijaíl Fokín, will be performed in these performances by Zeleidy Crespo, Raúl Reinoso and Mario Sergio Elías, dancers from Acosta Danza.

Carlos Acosta will return to the scene, together with the dancer Laura Rodríguez, to interpret Mermaid, a duet created by the Belgian choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui especially for Acosta.

Scenes from Tocororo, the first choreography created by Carlos Acosta, will close each gala night, now performed by dancers from Acosta Danza.
