De punta a cabo celebrated its world premiere during the debut season of Acosta Danza presented in April 2016 at the Gran Teatro de La Habana ‘Alicia Alonso’. The choreographer was inspired to create this dance based on his impressions of contemporary Cuba, a country of amalgamations and contrasts. Between the traditional and the modern, poverty and progress, the classic and the most corrosive, a reality most marvellous.
This choreography was nominated for the 2022 Laurence Olivier Awards, in the United Kingdom.
